Grado to Salas. 23km/13mi. 7 hours.
I left the lovely Alburgue La Quintada and immediately started the notorious 1100ft elevation gain. And then more elevation gain. And some more… Fortunately, there were cows along the way to make me smile! Today was mostly a solo day, but I did spend time with a lovely family from Northern California and an English expat who complimented my accent 
Bonus: Tonight I have the entire alburgue to myself!
For my 3-Day friends, today was like going up and down Torrey Pines 10 times. For my PNW friends, it was like back-to-back Lake Serene without the switchbacks. Definitely doable, but no joke!
Peregrino notes: A challenging day, but so beautiful! I paced myself and took frequent breaks to stretch and drink water. The alburgue at Casa Suena provides a sheet and pillowcase, and has a washer/dryer. And the shower water pressure was wonderful!
Dinner starts at 1900 and the Menú de Peregrino was 17€.
